First off it was nice to see the faces behind the cars again. Brian4.2, wagonmaster, Giacuser, drkangl and ol man Ming were there. 3 A6 2.7T's, 1 4.2 and 1 S6.
There were some A4's there but were with another group of people.
Hot hot hot,,,, 103 and 104 degrees!!!! For the turbo cars this spelled big trouble. The 2.7T's were able to get the first run in but the cars were already heatsoaked even then.
The S6 was very nice looking up close and personal. Kind of a mean looking stance to it.
Other cars in attendance were E46 M3 running in the 14's, Dinan 540 Supercharger ran 14.0-14.1 but that was with a engine chack light. It had run 12's there before!!. GS400 with cold air intake was running 14.6's.
We saw a yellow camaro stand the front wheels a good foot off the ground and proceeded to record a time that was not announced and the owner was through for the day!!! The track has a time max of 10 sec 1/4 and he beat that by a good margin according to the announcer! He did mention the speed at 136mph. one run and not permitted to go again.
The S6 showed us its power as it was trying to overcome some hurdles placed on it, wagonmaster can elaborate if he chooses to do so. The 4.2, S6 and one 2.7T tip were there for the first time in their cars and were trying to dial in the right way to launch their beasts.
Again it was nice to see everyone, next time lets try Carlsbad,,, its alot cooler there!!!

May be me but the S6's exhaust tip looks larger than stock.

 

Too bad it was so hot, would have loved to see what it would do out there. Maybe next time at cooler Carlsbad.
A A6 2.7T Tip did run 13.9 today. Think that person has a tail wind or something.

 

Everybody smoked by the Camaro, huh? YIkes.

 

It had the biggest cowl on it, big slicks, cage etc. This thing launched off the line in a violent manner. Front wheels off the ground, body twisting to one side from the torque. Scary fast, went like a rocket down the strip, could have been a 9 second run, maybe in the 8,s. Most of the cars out there were running from the occasional 12 second car to 18 second stock civics. Not many cars there. Way too hot to run, I had fun though I had a very weak time 14.688

 

They look nice...but I'd rather have 'em not extend beyond the bumper...don't like burning my leg...plus it'd look better.

 

At the "Bug-In" at Bandamer Speedway a couple wks ago, saw a 9.49sec KarmanGhia! Not the norm either
