Hacking a Handsfree setup???
There are several articles and posts detailing how to hack a handsfree kit into the A4's prewired system. There's an ethernet-style connector in the armrest which runs back to the trunk, to a DB25 connector. At that connector are also the leads from the microphone and the radio, including the mute signal. Therefore, the wiring part of hacking a handsfree kit into the car's prewired system becomes much simpler.
Does the A6 have similar wiring?
I've followed posts from earlier in the year, and it appears that, by forcing heavy integration with the cellphone (phone # lists in the dash display and such), they may have screwed up basic integration with the prewiring. But it appears that after Audi released some lame adapter kits, people gave up.
Has anyone attempted the basic A4-style integration with the A6? Is the wiring similar (with the connector in the trunk) or has it become too complex to hack?
Does anyone have the A6 service manual with the appropriate information?
