Update on E55 AMG (W211) - it will definitely have 476hp vs. RS6's 450 (more)

The RS6 is getting all the press, however, so the demand is much higher for the Audi than the new E55. I think those dying to get their hands on the E55 are mostly MB drivers already. I'm going to test out the new E500 with sport package when one becomes available next month just to see how these Benz's ride compared to quattro. Don't think I'll ever take a spin in the type-R - no desire to own a British Ford (Forde, not to be confused with the Fjord (Volvo))

New (C6) RS6's (2007) twin turbocharged 5L V10

should produce about 550 hp and 525 lbs/ft of torque (both estimated). And the hp and torque curves with the twin turbocharged V10 on the new RS6 should be just as wide or wider than the hp and torque curves with the twin turbocharged 4.2L V8 on the upcoming (C5) RS6. Also, both the C6 S6 (2006) and RS6 should have the same transmission options (six speed tip and seven speed SMG; one can only hope) as the B6 S4 and RS4, save for the six speed manual (oh, well). In addition, both the C6 S6 and RS6, like all other C6 A6s will weigh about 500 pounds less than their predecessors due to all aluminum construction with a single piece ASF (aluminum space frame).
