P21S is non-acidic, better for all types of wheels. Also, OXO wheel brush, don't need cleaner....
The brush removes the dust by itself, like a Calif Car Duster but for wheels.

Yeah, that was my criteria for a wheel cleaner...
When your clearcoat is already broken and the dust is in the cracks, any odl wheel cleaner won't do much...
Oh, for new wheels? Yeah, use anything... actually, soap and water does the job if you want to stay safe. =)

Maybe if your dust gets caked on with moisture. I rarely need any; when I do, P21S is great. But...
The acidic one I would recommend is Audi's own. Very effective, and never saw any damage when I used it (washed off within 30 seconds).

Have you ever had speedline wheels with the usual deterioarated clearcoat?
The dust basically stains them so much, the only way to clean them is with an acidic cleaner... I'm not going by the book or basing what I do on a theory... just whatever works.
I have used ArmorAll on good wheels, too, and wouldn't switch back to a non-acidic, just because it works so well!
I'm sure there are drawbacks that I haven't yet experienced, but I'll take that risk.
