Just debadged my car : )
The funny thing is that I was expecting to have the area under the badges be brighter since it hasn't been exposed to the sun. But in fact the area under the badge was actually duller. Makes me feel good about my detailing : )
In any event, once the badges were off, I continued to heat the left over crud and push it off with my finger. Once I couldn't get anymore off, I soaked it in WD40 repeatedly. This got almost all of it off but the outline was extremely noticeable. So I went in with Meguiar's Medallion Paint cleaner which got rid of just about all the oxidation around the letters. I finished up with Scratch-x. Followed that with #7 glaze and Medallion wax.
It actually took about 2 hours mainly because my car has about 2 years of sitting outside on it. Those badges were BAKED on there.
I hope that helps anyone who's thinking about it.
