Default Should the Homelink control light up at night?

When I back out of the garage at night I have to feel for the button on the Homelink and hope I get the right one to close the door. It seems strange that the buttons would not be light up when I turn on the lights, or do I have a bulb burned out? (2000 2.7T, A6)

Definitely agree, but there are only 3-buttons, right? How hard can it be to hit the right one?

Default Sweating the details

It's little stuff like this that people notice and it degrades the ownership experience. Not to mention that the Homelink panel itself is so big and clunky it looks like the prototype from 1975!

On Merc Homelink is built into the rearview, which is pretty sweet.

And while we're at it, why the hell aren't buttons on steering wheels illuminated? There's obviously power there already.

Default What phred said........ but also...

the other car that I have with Homelink has it on the other end of the visor. Being a creature of habit, I often go to the complete wrong location in the Audi. If it happened to be lit, like many other cars, I might put my hand in the right place to begin with. I know its a small detail, but there are so many other things on this car that are lit (like those buttons on the door frame, that I hardly ever use at all, never mind at night) that it surprises me that they missed the homelink ones which I do use everytime I drive the car at night.

Default Your steering wheel buttons aren't illuminated?

Are you referring to the ones that control the audio system? Mine light up in red just like the rest of the controls.

Default Current generation A4 Homelink buttons DO light up in red.

Maybe there's hope for next gen A6 to do same.
