Bought used 99 Avant, Why do I need a warranty?
Thanks,
Claire
Get some ballpark estimates from your service dept. for stuff like sunroof repair/replacment, working on the HVAC system, new tranny or radiator. Even simple-sounding stuff like a broken power seat or dying radio. You might just be amazed how fast it adds up to much more than $1500.
Alternatively, you could put away money in a special money market repair fund for the same purpose. At today's interest rates, it's hardly worth the effort.
The oil seals along are worth it... along with te Airbaglights, and the sunroof, and the......
Thet are great scooters tho' !

My wife's 98 A6 2.8, 1 year later with only 42K miles, has already had $4,800 dollars worth of repairs, and the climate control system is still F'd up.
We have been so disappointed with this car that we will be selling it when the warranty expires. The warranty companies must know a thing or two, they want to charge $2300 for the same warranty that would be $850 on the Lexus (assuming same year / mileage) To me, it certain does look like an Audi thing.

My perfect car would be a car engineered by the Germans, but built by the Japanese (using Japanese engines and electronics).
