Tough times for Audi (From Vortex)
Audi of America March 2003 Sales Report:
Audi of America, Inc. reported sales of 6,380 for the
month of March, 2003 down 16% from March 2002.
Year-to-date Audi is 10% behind last years sales
numbers at this time.
Overall industry-wide car and light truck sales were
down 4.1% for March 2003 and 4% for the 1st quarter
of 2003 compared to 2002.

I have no doubt that its a result of the service and not the product
Personally I can't imagine another manufacturer whose product line is at such an all time high while its parts and service is at such a low. I would have an '03 A4 Cab in the garage right now if it weren't for my Audi dealer's service manager advising me that if I really wanted first class service, I should have bought a Lexus or Infiniti.

My wife gets better overall service across the street at the Mazda dealer...
...than our Audi dealer typically dishes out, esp. when you factor in the fact that the Mazda does the 3 most important things at least twice as good as the Audi dealer does. Those things are: fixing the car right the first time, fixing it promptly and on time, and letting us know what is going on.
Also, as for reduced sales, there is no S4 for sale in March '03 like there was in March '02. That's got to account for about half of the sales drop IMO.
