18 inch wheels
I am in the process of looking at aftermarket rims...I left a couple of posts for info...not alot of replies...
I would like to know the following:
Can I put 18" wheels on a 99A6 Quattro with stock suspension...
If so, what are the tradeoff, how much shorter does the tire last mile wise....
Let me know!!!

Depends on the tire
If you get a soft tire, it will not last as long.
you can do 18's with stock suspention.
Trade off is a stiffer ride, a bit harsher , but a welcome trade to the floating stock ride.

If your running 16's, your going to want to do a plus 2 conversion,
which means go up 2" in wheel diam, and down accordingly in tire profile - ie 16" rim with 60 profile = 18" with 40 profile. With larger tires you won't necessarily get worse wear, but your tire options will be limited to performance/ultra performance which typically are softer by nature.
