Yes another RS6 rim on a 2.8 question...

245/45 tire on an 18 x 7.5 wheel on a 2.8 A6

I know the max recommended size is 235/40 on an 18 x 8, but could the smaller 20 mm offset of the 7.5 wheel vs. a 35 mm offset of an 8 make it a reality?

I can't help but ask, I see them, I want them...

The offset has no effect on how wide of a tire can fit on a particular rim...

Why not just put 235s on 'em?

They are used rims with 245's... I was hoping smaller offset would mean a 245 wouldn't rub outside

If they fit, they fit...

Have the tires successfully been mounted on these rims? If so, I guess they are fine especially if they've been proven to fit well with some miles on 'em.
I don't think 245s should pose much problem with the outside fender...obviously depending on the offset...but if the offset is too low, you might have problems with the tire rubbing on the inside...and along the upper suspension arm.

They'r mounted, just unsure 245/45 will fit a 2.8. 45 may be tall & 245 too wide rgrds of offset

Are these a set of the RS4 "winter" tires and rims ??

If so they will fit.. or so I've been told by folks from Germany. But they don't fit a 2.7t or 4.2.....

Yeah, tough to say...it's 5.4% too "tall" of a diameter...which might cause rubbing...

You'd obviously be much better off with 245/40s or better yet, 235/40s.

Only one way to find out.

My 19 inch RS 6 wheel and tire combo is 4% too large...and the clearance is close with the upper suspension arm...quite close...that doesn't mean anything about your situation other than you gotta just check it out first...
