Magnaflow muffler ordered for 2.8
I just ordered it from hottexhaust.com for $85 shipped, part number 14615 6in round by 14" long all stainless. 2 1/4 in inlet/outlet. I'll have the muffler shop bend a tip for it since my exhaust doesn't exit thru the rear valance (boo!). I kept hearing all you guys bragging about how good it sounds and how it freed up some ponies so I had to do it!
My options are pretty limited on the 2.8.
1)$400 for a chip that'll add 10hp and maybe cause problems? NOT
2) $85 plus install for around 5hp increase and better tunes out back? YEAP!
3) Next mod, maybe GIAC tip chip for $250 ?
I just installed a set of Moda R6 17x8's with 235/45/17 Yoko's and love the way it looks!

Yes, each since I only have 1 muffler. I'm leaving the stock cats, Y-pipe, and resonator. I don't want it to sound too aggressive. Maybe that's not a bad idea, though, since my wife steals my car all the time and that would stop her!

Keller, you only have 1 muffler?
on my '99 avant Q, there are two very distinct mufflers out back underneath the bumper...I thought this was the set-up on 2.8's? Am I mistaken or are there certain years that 2.8's had 2 exhausts? Please fill me in and let me see the pics...I'm definitely considering exhaust and hcip upgrades in the very near future! TIA
