Can anyone suggest a good replacement bulb for my halogen lamps.
I would like to go the route of the Xenon look-a-like, so long as it will look good. Anybody done this upgrade or is there a good "bright white" bulb. Every other car in the house has Xenons or considerably brighter lights. The difference between the brights and the driving lamps is too great, I would like to narrow that gap with a recommended upgrade. Thanks. BTW, I would like to match the colour to my new flood lights (cool blue) if I could.

well i tried 4 different brand and found out " let's just save money and get real hid." i sent ..
more than $250 (piaa h1 plasma blue 5000k-from jampan $95years ago+piaa h3 plasma blue $75+ mtec$35 + other cheap ****s already you could get mr jung's hid kit for $375.
don't waist money those bulbs look much whiter but = you know why i got flat tire and got demage rims every 1 month. i can't see xxxx

I have done the research on this and saved you all the time and money! Go with the PIAAs - they are by far the best. For only $120 I replaced both my low beams AND fogs (I saw no reason to do the high beams).
PIAA recently came out with their Xtreme White bulbs in H1 to fit the A6 lowbeams (not sure if they are listed on their website yet) and they offer H3 bulbs for the fogs.
I ordered them at a local speed shop. I suggest you go with the PIAA Xtreme Whites - I am very pleased with them. They are by far the closest to HID I have found (and I have tried several).
The reason I did not go for the real thing is my car is leased. However, I will be sure to get Xenons on my next car ('04 S4)!

PIAA's only lasted 6 months and 9 months in low beams,
but the high beams are still going...
YMMV, but although the color is cool, the brightness is nowhere near what they advertize (I used a light meter).
