To Track My 2.7T or Not?
I am concerned about burning up my brakes and tires at the track. The difference in cost is only about $400 by using my own car. Obviously, I would prefer to use my car, but is the wear and tear worth it.
Need some guidance.
If you don't want to put the expense and the wear-and-tear of your own "baby", then just use their autos. Especially if this is your first time at the track...
Plus, by "renting" their auto, you'll probably be less inclined to hold-back while at the track...
Enjoy it!!!
And I'll be there :-)

Seriously, I have been doing these trypes of events for about 15 years in every type of car you can imagine - from my 83 UrQ, to my 1992 4DSC Maxima, race set up eclipse, 993, and various SCCA race cars. I have been instructing for almost that long too. There is no better way to learn the capabilities of your car than at the track. It will make you a much better and safer driver on the STREET, and will allow you to relax some in the car on the street when crazy stuff happens and you know what to do.
As long as you listen to your instructor, I would strongly advise you to run your car there. Just be careful in the obvious places like madness and thunder valley... You'll know why when you get there.
Have fun and good luck,
E. J.
