Is it possible to reverse the Tiptronic shifting?
Since I got my car last monday I have been trying to figure out what feels ''wrong' about the tip shifting. Now I know. The shifter is backwards. Seems to me that one should be pulling back to upshift and pushing forward to downshift like sequential shifting race cars. When you accelerate the g forces push you back into the seat thus making it more natural to pull back on the shifter to change to 2nd, 3rd etc. When you brake, your body weight is shifted forward so you should downshift in the direction of the g forces.. forward. it is weird to try and extend your arm to upshift when the g forces are pushing you back and vice versa. So, I wonder if this is something I could have reversed. Anyone know about the tip wiring and if this would be a do-able thing?

Maybe, but I'm too chicken to try it...
...according to the Bentley manual, the manual shift mode in the Tip shifter works with two (magnetic, I think) sensors on a circuit board under the console plate. It seems like a little judicious surgery could reverse both these and the "+" and "-" emblems as well.
If you're interested in modifications at this level, I'd suggest getting both a Bentley manual and a VAG-COM tool. Then you can go crazy.

You could do it
All you would have to do is to switch two wires, but you will have to get in there and know what you are doing. I will be upgrading my non tiptronic 97 A8 to tiptronic in the next two weeks, waiting for one more part.
Watch www.audipages.com in the next few months and you'll have an understanding of what you need to do.
However, if you can't read schematics or use a multimeter, I would try it.
