2003 A6 Avant phone question
Can anyone advise if I have this capability and point me toward the connector? Also, is there a coax connector for the roof mast antennea available to use?
I agree, the coax connector in the trunk is hard to retro-fit when you are dealing with non-OEM cellphone accessories. Trust me, I've been to 5 different RadioShacks - trying to find the appropriate coax connector. I might have to splice both cables - not my first choice.
Also, because the '03 (without OnStar) isn't prewired for the cellphone, you might need to pull out your SymphonyII radio to access the mute and speaker wires.
You'll need:
1) 4 little radio removal tools (search the forum for my post on radio removal tools - $16.99)
2) Wiring schematics for SymphonyII (search the Audio forum for pix etc)
3) Ignition Power, Battery Power, Ground can all be accessed in the fuse box area. Radio mute and speaker (+/-) will be found behind the SymphonyII radio.
4) The supplied microphone will need to be used; without the prewiring, the mic grilles near the sunroof controls/dome light do not exist.
Call with questions...glad to help where I can.
or send me an email to: teddybgame@hotmail.com. I can email you all of my pix (several MB worth so no 1.5MB yahoo accounts please).
