Put Pirelli P6 tires back on...Blizzak LM-22's snows are off
I got my car in late November and installed a set of Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22 winter performance tires on Mille Miglia A1 wheels almost as soon as I got the car. The Blizzaks did a great job this winter even though I kept the low profile 235X45X17 original size. No skids, no traction issues at all, and almost never felt the ABS engage in spite of a very nasty and long winter in New Hampshire. Virtually all my driving impressions for my "03 2.7 have been based on over four months of driving with these tires. The original Pirelli P6 all seasons that came with the car are considered to be a mediocre tire, while the LM-22's are near the top of the snow tire pecking order. I spent an hour driving the car yesterday with the plain old Pirellis and guess what? They feel GREAT compared to the Blizzaks! The car feels like it dropped 500 pounds of weight overnight. The steering is crisper, the ride is smoother, and there is considerably less road noise. I can't believe it. I guess the moral to this story is that even the best of the performance winter tires are still basically just big old, noisy snow tires afterall. I'll be checking to see if my fuel economy improves now too.

Nice Car. Nice color too. I insisted my dealer take off the BBS wheels and performance tires, and I've riden on my 5 spoke wheels w/ Pirelli P6's all winter here in Chicago. I don't have anything other tires to compare them with, but the car drove perfect on the winter, and its a pure joy on dry roads.
