Dent Wizard Anyone?
Has anyone had experience with those paintless dent removal guys? I have a major door ding on a brand new (5K miles) A6 2.7 Ming Blue 6 Speed. Its all I can see when I look at the car. I know how they do it, long tools that reach inside panels, was wondering if they mess with internals, or weather stripping, door seals etc. Does anyone have any experiences, good or bad? No doubt its highly variable based on the skill of the individual, just looking for your experiences. Oh yeah, this car is incredible! I love this thing!

...as it's not too sharp (creased), and there's no paint damage, they should be able to fix 'er right up.

I have seen them perform miracles, but the process did not work for me...
I had a pretty good crease in my door that Dent Wizard said was a dicy proposition. The dealer (who put the crease in the door in the first place) said that they'd like to try the less-expensive dent wizard route first.
Dent wizard sent their best tech, and he reaffirmed the original judgment that it was not a good candidate, and he was right.
The repair in this case was less than stellar, and we ended up repairing the door using more conventional techniques.
The damage to my door crossed the formed "shadow line" crease at the top edge of the main door panel, and this is exactly where the repair was not perfect.
In the middle of a panel you might have better luck.
Do you have a picture of the damage?

Haystack, I recognize those curves in your sig, mine aren't to the same scale but O.CT rocks. No pic of the dent, camera is down. It is in the middle of the panel, looks to be a good candidate. I just worried I'd have wind noise or leaks from them working through the window gap so that's the concern I was looking to validate.

...paintless dent removal. Tools that include a special polymer faced hammer, special prybars and picks, etc. Most bodyshops like mine try to move away from the paintless dent removals. Once metal has been fatigued you have to "rework" the grain to bring it back to normal. You can not rework the grain of metal with a dent wizard.
