I suspect my car was abused by the dealer over the weekend
I dropped the car off two weekends ago, filled the gas tank just before dropping the car off, the trip computer said I had 355 miles to go.
I get the car back after two days, the car has 24 miles on it and the gas trip computer says i have 110 miles to go, even though the fuel gauge is still at full.
i suspect someone at the dealer really abused it and had some fun, it takes a lot of full throttle driving to bring projected milage from 355 to 110..
I drove the car for 3 more days myself, put some 75 miles on thecar and the projected miles left are back to 290
What do you guys think.

Nope...they just left it idling for a while (long while)...
and did little driving...
When my car was in for an O2 sensor, they left it idling for around 3 hours!!! Only a couple miles driven but my avg mph and avg mpg really took a beating!

2.7Tdallas is probably right, but maybe not....6 years ago, my wife bought a new Jetta GLX. We took it to the VW dealer for service for a door lock cylinder repair (the door was sticking), and when we picked it up a few days later, there was 120 miles on the trip computer and a new ding on the front fender. The service tech took the car home to evaluate the problem (it was an intermittent problem), and admitted to running errands with her husband the entire weekend it was supposed to be sitting at the dealership.
They fixed the dent, but that didn't make matters right!
