Motorola Phone Question
Searching for a clutter-free hands-free experience, I have settled on a Motorola T720 (Verizon) which will tomorrow be fitted with Motorola's Professional Install Kit. My friendly Audi Dealer wanted around $800-$1000 for this service (they weren't sure how much, because - surprise, surprise - they hadn't done it more than once or twice.
My question is: does the kit play through the car's speakers? One installer said yes - a closer look at the Kit's description reveals ambiguity on this point, and I didn't want to bug the installer who's coming tomorrow, and who has already been very patient with me. Any wisdom out there? BTW, the kit is basically the same for the more common V60 phone. And, if I'm headed over a cliff with this project, please don't hesitat to let me know! Thanks.

I have the same kit from motorola. I just bought the cradle for the one for the t720 since the brain was the same as the v60. All the functions stayed the same. Although it seemds like people can hear me better with the t720. ANyway my one used the speaker that came with the kit, mainly because of ease. The only wish that i had with the install is that the mute wire was connected. Unfortunately after reading all the post on automatically muting the radio using the mute wire, it was not possible with a 2002 and up since the mute wire behind the radio is looking for a different signal other than Ground or 12V. Just make sure you place the microphone close to you (visor, sunroof switch) and not on the bottom of the pillar since i have to yell everytime i talk to people while driving. It works fine on the pillar when standing still since there are no background noise. Good luck!!!

If the kit is similar to the one I purchased over a year ago from Verizon for my V60, then it uses it's own speaker, mic, antenna, etc. It works very well except for some occasional trouble with the mic. Overall I'm very pleased with it as it was my only alternative at the time for a high quality hands free kit. It would be nice if it were integrated through the car's existing wiring for the mic and radio mute functionality. Let us know how it goes...

To mount the phone itself, check out pro-fit
I use their mounting bracket, it bolts in behind the radio, so you don't have to drill holes in the dash or console.
I've thought of getting the complete V60 kit, but I just use an ear bud with mic and that is good enough for me. Pro-Fit has a web site that has photos and details on their bracket.

Yes it can be integrated
I installed mine myself in both a 00 A6 and an 02 A4 (similar to the 02+ A6) and used the built in speaker in both cars. I used the built in mic wires for the A6 and ran the mic wires to where telematics mic would be in the A4. In the A6 I used the 25 pin connector in the trunk and in the A4 I connected directly to the back of the radio. I did use the mute wires in both cars also. It was very easy in both cars.
