Default LQ-plus and bumper

FYI, I recently picked up my car after Audi courteously paid for a new bumper cover and engine cover. The bumper cover is now directly through-bolted to the engine cover. [Seems like the LQ brackets were discarded.] The dropdowns before the front wheels seem a little shorter than they used to be, and there isn't the black plastic extension that the 02+ have. The seams with the fenders are now beautiful. I even field tested the setup by scraping over a parking block - no damage aside from the scrape. The only gripe I have is that the paint is a little bluer and less metallic than the rest of the car [silver].

The tech told me he got in trouble for ordering a new engine cover for everyone, so he can't do that anymore.

So this was fairly pleasant and I encourage you all to get your new front bumper cover.

Default They are going to give you a bumper cover only if your current one is damaged.

Otherwise, they are going to make the mod with your existing bumper cover in place. I presume you had damage to your original?

Default Mine was dislodged but not damaged, unless you consider the

stripping of the holes for the screws from the wheel wells to be damage. The cover was only pulled a little off the fenders and was never entirely off the car. And the engine cover certainly wasn't damaged beyond wear and tear.

Default very lucky... I had LQ service and had damage to the underside of the bumper as well as...

stripping of the holes for screws from wheel well-

didn't replace the bumper, just put it back a little bit better than it was put back before (but still doesn't look like new...)

since I was hearing that people with damage to the underside of the front spoiler were getting replacements, I thought i might be a canidate but i guess they were able to do the LQ work in spite of that damage- I have yet to check for the fit on the underside... we'll see

I got the same bad deal as you, so I decided to buy a new bumper cover myself.

Default This is beyond just the LQ work.

In the notice they tell you that will consider claims for reimbursement for damage, and it was under this that I went to the dealer and said, here's my damage, so reimburse me.

Default Sounds like you got an '03 setup...

My PicturePoster has before and after fixes of my 2001 and a picture of the 2003 loaner I got while they were working on it.
