2.7T Quattro Avant withdrawn in UK ?

I pick up my new 2.7T Quattro Avant S on Monday (replacing my longserving 2000 model 2.4 Quattro Avant SE). Whilst I was organising the insurance documents transfer I was on the Audi UK web site (http://www.audi.co.uk) checking the exact description for the insurance people and found, to my shock, the 2.7T Avant is no longer an option in the new car configurator ! :-(

The saloon is still showing as a 2.7T but not the Avant. I checked the US Audi page and it also only shows the saloon as a 2.7T

I called my local Uk dealer and he confirmed Audi are indeed dropping both the 2.7T A6's

That is a shame. Audi made a mistake by selling the Euro model with only 230 hp at first...

that took the steam out of sales. With 250hp the car is fabulous but seems to have been totally overlooked in the UK. I know the petrol prices do not help but I get about 23 imperial MPG on my 2.7t here in the US which is not bad considering the performance.

You will not regret getting the 2.7 it is a great car.

Also the 4.2 (S6 still available)

All Sport and SE versions will get leather as standard for '04 along with a 2.5% price rise. '04 build is from Week 23

Picked up the new 2.7T last night - hopefully the pic link works - sorry if its "large" still working out how this forum works, She's a cute Avant in Silver, Sport pack, Bose, Leather, heated seats... screw up on insurence and taxing so decided to just head for home and park up..

Any way all sorted today and after work this evening had to get some blank CD-Rs for home... my local PC shop is 10 miles away so I went to a more remote shop for the drive - 120 mile round trip for 14 GBP's of blank CDs, spent more on Fuel I guess LOL - lovely drive, we had rain, sun ,thunder, and 1/2 inch hailstones ... some how it was still a great drive..
