How 'bout some high mileage reports
My old 90' V8 on the other hand had electrical issues....but always ran and drove well...
We'd prefer to forget about the 84' 4000sq....
And I still hold it against my father that he never let me drive his URq and then sold it when I was out of college and looking for a car.... but it ran well for him and is still driven by a gentleman locally daily with over 300k on it.....( and many, many $$$'s put into upgrades and new systems..)
I'm torn on keeping mine for the long haul - still really like wagons..... but other then the turbos I think they should age fairly well.
regards,
A few minor electrical items ( wiring harness had chafed causing the instrument cluster fuse to go out when the car was put in reverse ). The alternator went out shortly after I sold it, but that kind of stuff is expected.
I've got 25,500 on my S6 so far...
I wanted to buy out my A8 at the end of its lease but AUDI did not want to play fair. The market value was less than the pay out and I offered the market. No deal. It was sold at auction in Toronto, I live in Alberta, for about Can$10,000 less than I had offered.
Hope this is of some help.
Needless to say -there have been 8 Audi's following the '87 in my family:
85 5000 Wagon (yes - they called em Wagons then)
87 5000 TQM
91 (i think it was a 91) 200 TQ
97 A8
98.5 A4 Q
01 S4 (2B Stage 2+ next week)
01 AR
03 AR (to be modded in Jun)
04 A8L (on order)
And lastly either a used B5 S4 Avant or new B6 for my wife in August when her current lease is up

The chassis has 255,000 miles and the powertrain has 120,000. Previously I had a 100q with 150,000 miles on it. The only things that seemed to fail were electrical: window switches, dash cluster, engine sensors, and the headliner. Wheel bearings seem to go about every 100k miles also.
