Paint Question

Silver, as one other forum member just mentioned, is one of the worst to-match colors, for sure. You have two problems, here-you are repainting a plastic part to match to the car's metal panels. The paint is simply going to sit and appear differently on the plastic vs. metal (this will be trouble for virtually all colors-I can even see some diffrences on my white Avant, according to lighting). The other problem
is that silver paint has a blue tint component.
It's dark enough, that just a little variation from one batch to the next will produce a noticable difference in hue. Short of repainting the whole car (which is bad idea), I think if you argue for a repaint with the dealer, you will just be drilling yourself into the ground. You may end up with even more significant mismatch than before.
