Default S6 or A6 2.7T?

Hello,

What would you say are the main differences between the A6 2.7T manual and the S6? I do not really need the space of the Avant so I am more interested in which one is the best sport car of the two.

If you could buy both, which one would you buy and why?

S6 - naturally asperating 340 HP/310 pd feet of torque

A6 2.7T - twin turbo 250 HP/258 pd ft. of torque

That is enough for me.

Default What does $20,000 mean to you? They are very different cars with different prices.

You can use one third of the price difference to make the 2.7T outrun the S6, but it will be less reliable (kiss your warranty goodbye) and less exclusive. If they were the same price, it would be a no-brainer (S6).

If you want a stick, there is no choice. 2.7T.

Default After having a S4 and an S6

The choice is easy. I'd go for the S6. It's the best balanced Audi you can buy at the moment.

Yea it's a auto only but sport mode works really well and there really is something to be said for a V8.

Default S6 is more powerful. S6 handles better due to its wider track/wheels/tires...

...as well as stiffer than "sport" suspension. I would get an S6 for it's interior alone; full alcantara headliner, sport seats, aluminum door sills, leather door panels, S wheel and guages, all business. Really the nicest interior I've ever seen in an Audi. We have a 2001 A8 which now seems like a beater when you drive them back to back. Not even close. My wife likes the interior so much she is now trying to decide between trading UP to an S6 or an Allroad.

Oh yeah one more thing, I have raced a few six speed 2.7 allroad's and A6's. It was not pretty for any of them. They could usually get a good launch and some have even got their nose just slightly ahead of mine in the first 30 feet or so, but after that its over. Once the manifold opens up in first I pass and gain a length, when I shift to second it's like they were in reverse. With 100 octane its even better.

Tough call.

TOTALLY different cars believe it or not.

Pros to the S6 -
Avant size
More exclusive
More Horsepower
Nicer interior
Better suspension

Pros to the 2.7 -
A LOT less money $20K
Available manual transmission
Much easier to modify if you're into that.
2.7T drivers have much larger penises

Cons to the S6 -
Heavier
Slushbox Auto (although the '03's have paddle shifters)
Slower then a manual 2.7
Money thing again
Smaller ***** size

Cons to the 2.7 -
6 cylinder instead of an 8
Not as wide a track as the S6...doesnt handle as well
Ummmmm, more common than an S6
