Go with Mobil 1 / 0-40W and you will need 6.9 quarts. Your change interval should be the factory recommended interval divided by 2. It will cost you more, partcularly since you are likely still on warranty but it is worth it. The engine will keep its tolerances longer and the turbos will love it.

First oil change at 5000 or 10000 miles
I have an 03 too. Should I change at 5,000 miles or wait for 10,000. I do mainly city driving. Trip computer tells me my average is 30 MPH.
I also heard that you should do the first couple of changes with Dino and then move to Synthetic at 15,000 miles.

I'd change to Mobil1 0W30 at 5000 miles...
I'd change to Mobil1 0W30 at 5000 miles - it has better specs than 5W30 - and then change it again at 10,000 miles to either M1 0W30 or M1 0W40. I think that the 0W40 is good enough to last 10K in large-sump 2.4 & 2.7t engine; not so sure about 0W30.
