Anyone know what oil filters Jiffy Lube uses
I'm not eager pay the dealer $80 for an oil change (@25K). Does anyone know if Jiffy uses Mann or another good OEM filter for a 2.7T?

Yikes, I wouldn't let them put whatever they want on there. Buy your own and bring them.
Also keep in mind that the crush ring is supposed to be changed each time also.

I think Jiffy Lube uses Fram filters. Call and ask.
Either way, I would never bring my Audi to a JL, the engines require a bypass type filter, that Mann provides, during intial start up.
Take your car to an independent Audi shop for your oil change.

They're not going to use a Mann
or anything European. Depends on who owns the particular shop you're talking about, could be Pennzoil, Castrol, Fram, etc.
Can't you find an indy repair shop that can do the change? You're right it's only an oil change, but think about the repercussions of doing it wrong ........

You are right. But the simple solution is to order OEM filters from Clair.
Dealer oil change charges are nuts. But Audi (so my dealer told me), claims their filter is of a proprietary design. If something goes wrong with a filter other than theirs, the theory goes your warranty is void. You can therefore order filters
from Clair, I think I paid $8.95 ea. You will need also to order new drain plug washers for each filter, which cost 64 cents each. Just bring them to your chosen vendor for the oil change, and ask for credit against your supply of your own filter for the change.

Watch out if you take your A6 to any quick lube place...
my dealer service tech told me that a lot of those places will cut a hole in the engine cover pan to make it easy to get to the oil filter and drain plug. It takes them a few minutes to cut the hole the first time they do your oil change, but it saves them a lot of time every time you bring it to them afterwards since they wont have to remove the pan.

"its just an oil change..." Til they overtighten your drain plug and split your drain pan... or undertighten it and it works its way loose and you lose all your oil.
Based on stories I have heard (not rumors, actual events), I would not trust any of my cars to Jiffy Lube unless I actually, personally witnessed the opening, draining, filling, refilling, and closing and retorquing of every fastener. But that's just me...
