Will a Transmission,TC, TCU from a S4 Tip, bolt right up to an A6 2.7T Tip?? Same exact tranny?

I took a peak at ETKA...
There are over 10 variants of the 5-speed TIP each for the 2000 A6Q and A4/S4. There is a smaller number for each with the Torsen central diff. I expect this is the one for the S4/A62.7T, but I'm not 100% sure.
I have no idea why all the different part numbers exist, nor if they differ in physical mounting characteristics.
There is only one part number for the 6-speed tranny case, btw... with a small note that certain holes had been enlarged at the end of '96. So it looks like any of the tranny's should bolt up. I don't know about the TCU.
BTW, a couple of the full-tranny part numbers are the same for the A6 and for the S4. My guess is that you'll be OK, but I would definitely check with someone who has a lot more experience with this than I.

I just have a chance to purchase a S4 Tranny,TC,TCU for $1,000 from someone who lives by me. They did a swap from Tip to 6 speed in a S4. For $1,000 I dont think I can pass it up. THen its off to Level 10 with it, to upgrade it to ~5-600hp and 500lbs.

Oh just a beef'd up tranny,
maybe a full O.CT chip to the tune of ~425hp but nothing serious since I drive like a grandpa. : )
Maybe injectors, intercoolers, already have Oil cooler coming, thats about it.

Sounds like a great project!
Are you planning on doing the head gaskets too, or just the intercoolers and injectors, etc...?
I'm saving my pennies here for more toys too, but I'm afraid I may have to wait a bit. Summer is here and that brings a whole new set of elements into range of the toy budget.
