What years did Audi produce the Pearl White color?

I am a proud new owner of a new to me used pearl white A6 in immaculate condition. I was simply wondering why I haven't seen many (or any) of this color around.

this is audi's signature color and has been available since...

the mid 80's, 85 in europe and 88 in usa. it's always been an extra cost item so only a few 100 are usually done each year.

I had a 91 200 20v pearlescent white quattro. Still have a 94 S4 Pearl White..

It was once a regular colour offering, but Audi switched over to charging extra

and making a special request option in the mid-90's. It's very hard to match bumpers to body, and so the factory had to have a large selection of bumpers on hand for assembly workers to choose from for the best colour match.
