New Member/New S6 Question
Greetings. I'm new to the board and have just purchased a 2002 S6 (5,000 miles). I found this board very informative prior to buying the car, so thanks to all you A6 and S6 enthusiasts for your helpful input.
I don't yet have the car as it is coming from out of state. I'm wondering if there is anything special to know about the S6s? (For example, one Audi service manager I spoke with said that the S6s are extra sensitive to the wrong tire pressure and that this can surface as annoying wheel vibrataions at certain speeds.)
I much appreciate any input or assistance on anything to look out for or for tips on how to get the most out of the car.

you need to ask specifically for Road Force balance
Nearly every dealer has the new Hunter balancing machine. It takes them longer to do it, so politely press a little to get it done the first time.
Make sure they give you a print out of the results. My dealer first said they were 'within spec' but when I saw the print out, one tire was at 25 pounds road force, the other three under 10. No one could give a clear answer what is or is not 'within spec'.
It took 5 or 6 service visits, but eventually they provided a new set of tires, and my shimmy at 70 is gone.
You will notice the shimmy more if you have pulled your steering relay (which did/will transform your car into what it was meant to be).
