At my first oil change I had the doors programmed to lock at 10mph...
They did...for about 2 weeks and then stopped. Then a few days ago they started auto-locking again. Now they've stopped.
Suggestions?

Any chance the trunk is sometimes ajar? Mine was but the console didn't show it...
Until I went over a bump. It is possible that the trunk being open might prevent locking... at least, it does prevent the remote lock beeping.

The beep always works (implying lids are shut when parking & hadn't auto locked). I had the beep
disabled on the sedan, but left it on w/ the Avant as it is so faint. I don't usually miss hearing it though, as the remote only seems to work from about 15 ft. away, maximum. Also one of the remotes has already died and had the battery replaced (free by dealer).
Several times I have inadvertently hit the trunk open button when opening the car while carrying a bunch of stuff, and not noticed it until halfway up my street. The alert has picked it up every time - I think! - though the last time it locked itself when descending a neighborhood speed bump just beyond my driveway.
Good idea though; I'll check to make certain everything is closed.

I bought a new A6 1.8T last December (I live in Taiwan) and asked my dealer to turn on this function. Like you said, it was disabled and enabled without any regulation....
And the dealer had replaced three computers for me and still not fix.
One week ago, they showed me a document that the old version computers have this kind of problem and have to replace the computer to version D38 to fix it.
My dealer had ordered a new one for me. I will let you know if it really fix this problem.

Mine do the same thing.
On for 2 days, off for 3 weeks, on for 2 months, off for 1 day, on for 2 weeks, off for 3 days, etc. etc. etc. Has been happening since I got the car in October '02.
Last time I had it in the dealer looked at it and said it had "lost" the coding so they redid it. Its been somewhat more reliable since then, but only slightly.
I'm going to use it as an excuse to by the VAG tool.

How weird.. had mine reprogrammed last Monday. Stopped working Friday.
Seems like this is a common problem. Windows still go up when locking car but the doors stopped locking at 8-10 mph and they stopped unlocking when engine turned off and key removed.
