Default Cops Ruining The Audi Experience... (little long)

I received my second speeding ticket in a year today. Both times, I was NOT trying to make up for being late to a meeting. Was tooling along this morning when, BANG, everyone in front of me hits their brakes and the copper lights up his low profile rack and pulls me over. (Was coming around a bend, got zapped with laser, so not sure any device would have detected him.)

Now, I am no angel, I do tend to squeeze a few MPH on many roads, but the A-6 affords me the ability to run "hotter" than most other lane clogging vehicles.

If I have to slow down all the time, I question the enjoyment of riding in such a fine automobile. Maybe a GM vehicle is in order.

Getting back to the "pull-over", cop asks me if "I have any questions" as he hands me the ticket. What could I say, he had me cold. He wasn't about to offer a warning for 76 in a 60 zone.

Guess we have proof, Silver is the fastest color (and most expensive to drive - $100 lighter now).

I find that any speed more than 9 MPH over and you're 0\/\/|\|eD - esp in Ohio.

Regardless... don't just pay the ticket. Always ask for a hearing.

Default I know how frustrated you feel....

It just kills being on a 4 lane open highway......and having to do 55 mph or pushing my luck and doing 70. The car is just such a joy to drive and it barely wakes up because there is nowhere we can go to open her up. Everytime I find myself leaning on the gas I back-off and think its not really worth the 4-5 point ticket from the a$$hole cop thats hidden in the bushes.

But what are you gonna do...its a cat and mouse game! And sometimes we get caught

Default Depends on the cops and the location

Recent article in LA Times about a new stretch of freeway where most folks are doing 100+.

And recent article in Car and Driver about a town in your state notorious for nailing everyone!

Default 2 things

First, you're guilty so don't try to argue your way around that. Any speed over the posted limit is illegal, regardless of anything else. Cops and judges don't want to hear it.

However, it's not too hard to beat a ticket if you're willing to do some work. Go to www.nolo.com and buy the book on how to beat a ticket. You win based on using the system to your advantage, not even getting into the merits of the ticket.

From now on, choose your occasions more carefully.

Default I've been lucky (relatively)...

Had my first two encounters with the law in over 15 years recently. The first was 82 in a 60. Believe or not, I got a warning. The second was 42 in a 30 and I got busted for that one but the city I got caught in has a probation option. Pay an inflated fine and don't get caught in that city within 90 days and your record is expunged.

Silver is fast, but apparently not as fast as Brilliant Black...

Default A federal grant requires 3 stops per hour here in WA for any stater running OT.

Big seat belt attack going on. I don't understand why people don't wear them in the first place.

I've been ticketed for 9 and 10 over. Not safe to go more than 7 around here anymore.

Default Re: 2 things

Your take on things is always to the point - greatly appreciated.

I quickly realized when pulled over that there was nothing I could say to get me out of the ticket other then the cop being called away quickly for an emergency. No such luck.

I inquired about driving schools to eliminate the points, but, once again no such luck. Not offered here in Hamilton County (Cincinnati).

Guess, I'm hosed on both the ticket now and insurance next year.

Does a judge in Ohio have the power to get you out of registry points?
