628 relay and 02 S6?

628 relay and 02 S6?

Is the 628 the correct relay I want to pull on my 02 S6 to get the "real" steering feel?

Yep...

But, I found it too stiff on my 2001 4.2 without the relay, so I put in a 628 from 2002 and found it preferable. Still too light, but I prefer this to too heavy. I think the wide summer tires and heavy front end make it hard to steer at parking lot speeds.

Besides, above about 40mph, the relay hardly does anything at all. it adds boost mostly at low speeds. I suppose if you autocross (2nd gear primarily), pulling the relay is a good idea.

The heaviness wasn't a problem for me...but it didn't improve "feel"...

yeah, it was heavier, but didn't feel any more communicative than with the 605...so it went back in (after a year with it out).
The S6 steering has a lot better compromise in heft...but direct feel is still limited.

Pardon my ignorance but what is a 605 and 628?

I've seen these mentioned before but no clue what they are or what they do? Does it apply for a 2003 A6?

Steering Servotronic Control Module... pull it to defeat the speed-sensitive power steering.

WOW thats awesome....I had no idea!!! This was my first complaint about the car....

but now I got used to it. I really didn't like that it didn't have the point-and-shoot steering like my old Honda, but looks like it will do the trick. I only have a couple of questions....

1) Is it still 628 on a 2003 car?
2) Where is it under the dash?
3) Just pull it and thats it? Nothing else?
