DIY info center repair?
I seem to recall that someone here tried to repair the info center fading issue by replacing it themselves. I tried searching for the old thread, but I can't find it.
Was there any update to that repair? My IC is now starting to fade from the upper left corner. It's still readable, but who knows how long that'll last.
I just read through the "Installing gauge trim rings" procedure in the tech section, and it looks as if accessing the display is really easy. Of course, I have NO IDEA how easy it is to actually replace the IC, accessing it looks easy.
Any thoughts on this? Any reports from someone who attempted this repair?
