I am REALLY happy with the car as a whole (Lux and Premium packages, silver with ebony/vanilla, sport seats, rear bags and Bose). As others have said before, it really feels like a different car. My '00 had PSK (w/16" wheels/tires) but felt much heavier than the '03 - no doubt due to the reduction in unsprung weight. Heavier steering and 17" wheel/tire combo make this sport package more enjoyable than the '00 with no deterioration in ride quality. The car is indeed quieter too.

The interior is absolutely beautiful. The black dash with the lighter wood that only comes with the vanilla/ebony combo is very striking. Several dealership people even commented about it as it seems they don't get many orders for it, especially with the silver exterior.

New steering wheel feels great in your hand. The quality of the leather seems very high. I will miss the steering wheel controls for the radio however. Only other beef is the HVAC interface, which no longer has an "off" button. Oh, and I'm sure those wheels will be a real bitch to clean. 200 miles and they're black already!

Also want to say what a great value I received as a returning lessee. Not only did my monthly payment go down (for a more substantial car, ie. 6 CD changer, ESP, etc...), but they handed me a check at delivery ($2000 "cash back" plus waiver of disposition fee and no security deposit). Warren at Classic in Eastchester, NY really did me a solid for referring customers to him over the past few years.

One question so far: I know the xenon's on the '03 are "self-leveling" but mine seem to be riding low. When stopped at a light, they are on the bumper of the car in front. What do you think?

What is this an A6 or A4?

 

I find it actually nicer that they are a little more conservative on the height (less people flashing me)... After a few weeks in my car I like them better than the older "self-leveling" xenons that came in my A4.

Hold the fan "down" switch until it gets to the lowest setting and then release and touch again. Its goofy, and I wish there was an off switch myself, but it does work. Minor stuff though, considering all the other improvements.

I just got my 03 A6 4.2 sport pkg, traded in my 02 and I am unhappy. I think the 02 steering felt tighter? any help here, the dealer says its an improvement?>

 

Can't say. Never owned 4.2.

 

I would think they would be the same? Im thinking of pulling the 628 relay but Im pissed the dealer wont help me
