HELP! Just found out about 70% of my Assured car
has been repainted. Found out today that the rear 1/4 panel had been either fixed or entirely replaced, the front of my car had been shifted to one side, both driver and passenger sides have been repainted.
Isn't there a criteria in the Audi Assured Program where only X amount of the vehicle can be repainted before being certified?
Spoke to Audi of America and they were very unhelpful, didn't want to deal with it and kept stating that I need to contact the dealer.
This is very discouraging to know I bought a car that had been damaged. I mean, the key reason I paid more $$ for the stupid Assured Program so I wouldn't have to hear or deal with this kind of BS...otherwise why wouldn't anyone just buy it cheaper off non Audi used lot.
Anyone have any input on what I can do?

I don't recall any issue with % of area repainted or damaged...
just that the damage needed to be fixed...
With the Assured car you are buying a warranty...but definitely no assurance that the car has been well treated...you probably have better luck buying from some uptight a**hole like myself than on some lot, Audi or otherwise.

Fundamentals of buying a used car include checking thoroughly for such damage before delivery. Sorry
I don't mean to be callous, and feel terrible that you've discovered this after the fact. When you got the assured package, I'm sure you were given some <i>fine print</i> to read? Tedious to read, I'm sure, but maybe you'll find what you're looking for there.
Don't know about disclosure issues in the state where you bought it....?????

Thanks everyone...I was basing percentage on BMW's
Certified Pre Owned Qualifications. BMW "supposedly" will not certify any vehicles that have been repainted on more than 20% of the vehicle. My assumption was that Audi would be some what similar since they are competing manufs. I even told AoA that I'm not trying to get out of "Audi" per say, but put me in an Audi that hasn't been paited all over. I actually told my wife that if they buy the car back (highly unlikely) that I would probably consider an A8 or S8, but probably not another A6...sold my 540, bougth my wife a Lexus LX470, and I'm driving the A6 now.

I looked at a 4.2 at Scottsdale Audi before Finman's went on sale. Salesman said he didn't think there was any history of damage after I pointed out misaligned driver door, wrinkled interior fabric on the passenger A-pillar and front fender liners cleaner than a new car.It was Audi assured. (he never called back with info)

Looks like all the "Assured" programs are about as good as a trip to Speedi-Lube now.
4? years ago a Lexus salesman told me their program was better than indicated by current literature on the Lexus website.
Looking them all over quickly I don't see anything I wouldn't couldn't do during a standard pre-buy cycle.

My understanding from AoA is they cannot control what dealers claim to be "Audi Assured" cars. They can request dealers to conform to the program of assured cars but in the end dealers are free to screw you and AOA will not support you. However, I think AOA honors the 100,000 warranty and that definitly has value.
