Need some help with Exhaust tips.. Are the stock tips on 2002-2003 bolt on or welded to the exhaust
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/37492/may_11th_036.jpg"></center><p>Dropping the car at the bodyshop today, getting the 2003 rear bumper. Now I need to get tips before the car gets done next week. i would really like to keep the stock 2003 look if possible.
Not looking for huge exhaust tips or anything, just something close to the stock 2002-2003.

Please post results when done. AND...
I am having my A6's rear bumper cap replaced due to a minor accident. I'd like to have the body shop "upgrade" to the >'02 exposed exhaust look myself as mentioned in a recent post. My curiosity is focused on the need to cut, straighten, etc. the current concealed exhaust "end points".
By the way, clairparts.com should have factory tips.

I did this yesterday. Cut the turndownssquare leaving 1 1/2" stub off the muffler. Buy some tips at
Midas or ?, get stainless steel (they wont rust). Slip them over the stubs. I welded them on but you could probably screw them on if you're handy.
