Gally Plug?

Anyone heard of a gally plug? My dealership says mine is leaking, and it'll $2000 to fix. I'm feeling pretty desperate, and don't know what I should do. Thanks for any advice.

Yeah. They said I have a little time before it starts droping oil.

Just one more reason I am going to trade in my 98 A6 BEFORE the warranty expires.

Was the engine worked on?

The galleys are the channels through which the oil is distributed in the engine. Galley plugs are used to close off the drill path used to create or join them, or as precision orifices to meter oil flow. I've never heard of a galley plug problem on ANY engine EVER.

Has any work been done on the engine internals? Its a QA problem, either by the factory or whoever worked on it. I'd contact the area Audi rep...this is one of those things that should never be a problem, let alone a $2K one.
