Anyone here with '02 or '03 Platinum interior?

After living with it for awhile, how do you like it? How's it holding up? How susceptible are the seats and floor mats to dirt, stains? I'm looking at a new Ming Blue/Platinum A6 but am unsure about the color combo over the long haul. While I find the Ebony to be a little too dark for my taste, the Platinum is lighter than I prefer. To be honest, my current Tungsten Gray is perfect, but it was dropped in favor of Platinum after the '01 model year. Ant opinions from Platinum owners would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I've got a 02 4.2 Ming with Platinum... it's the best possible combination. The platinum stays cool and always looks great, IMHO.

Low maintenance

I have a Ming Blue / Platinum 2.7t ('02). The interior has held up very nicely over the course of the past 9 months with minimal (no) maintenance. The plastic bits and floor mats have picked up a good deal of dirt and are in need of a cleaning. The seats and the steering wheel look great though and only my conscience is going to get me to clean them.

The downside, IMHO, is that the platinum interior isn't nearly as classy as the other choices. The entire car just looks gray (except for the *very* nice looking wood, albeit a bit darker than I'd prefer). If you want a flashy looking interior, walk, don't run, away from Platinum. If you wand laid-back, utilitarian, and low maintenance, Platinum is your choice.

In case you can't tell, I didn't want Platinum. :-) My dealer blew my only shot at getting a Ming Blue/Beige car in '02, so I ended up taking the Platinum. I really didn't like it at first, but it's grown on me. It's classy in its own very not in your face way.

If you can deal with a lot of maintenance, Ming Blue with the Ebony/Vanilla interior would be beautiful IMHO, although it's not one of the offered combinations.

My '03 2.7T has a platinum interior...

...and I'm very happy with it. I've owned several cars with black interiors and won't do it again because of how hot they get in the summer months. I think the platinum looks very sharp. I did get some black stains on a seatback which cleaned right off. The only parts of the interior that routinely shows dirt are the light colored floor mats, but even they clean up easily with some carpet cleaner. I've had the car for 6 months and am still very pleased with my choice.

My platinum has held up VERY well...

I just bought the all season floor mats cause the plat mats get really dirty very quickly. Other than that, I find the interior much more pleasant than the Tungsten I had in my A6.
