I saw your response to the color scheme question below. Any chance you could post a picture? I ordered a 2004 2.7T with that same color scheme (Irish green/platinum), but had to do so blind. The dealership didn't have one with those colors. I thought it might be cool to see on like that before I go to sign the paperwork.

Thanks.

Default I did the same thing with my 2000 Racing Green/Tungsten Gray.

The Racing Green was a no-brainer - very rich color that takes on different characteristics as the light changes without being so dark that it looks black (as Ming Blue often does). Most in-stock green A6s have melange (now known as beige) interiors. While I really like the light wood that comes with it, I don't personally care for the melange color. I was originally going to order onyx (now known as ebony); the car I originally test drove was green/onyx and it looked great. On the whole, however, I liked the Tungsten Gray interior better (though I'd never seen it in a green A6).

Back in 2000, each interior color came as part of a specific "atmosphere", each with unique characteristics e.g. firmness of seats, direction of seat stitch patterns, the actual type of animal from which the leather is sourced (steer, water buffalo, or calf) and hence the leather texture, type of wood, and color of metal trim on the dashboard. All of these factors combined put the "Tungsten Gray Advance" interior at the top of my list.

After waiting 4 1/2 months, when the car finally showed up it looked smashing and still does. To this day, I've not seen another green/gray A6. Although the Irish Green and Platinum are quite different from Racing Green/Tungsten Gray, I think you can count on it being a great combo. I look forward to seeing pix.

BTW, you say you ordered an '04? Interesting. My dealer told me on Saturday that he wasn't yet able to place orders for '04s. I wonder what gives. Did you order either of the "Infotainment Packages" (with either Sirius or XM)? What are the other particulars in terms of the options you ordered? Do you have any '04 pricing info? I've got the "2004 Vehicle Order Guide", but it doesn't have pricing on it. Thanks.

Default Irish Green/Platinum

First off, I suck at digipics. Second, Irish Green is more "metallic" than Racing Green, and so it is very difficult (for me) to get a good pic of it. It changes colors depending on the light - can look black, or dark blue. Very lively for a dark color.

The platinum interior is lighter than the Tungsten. But it does stand up well.

The smoked tails look great - many thanks, Brian. Now for the side markers!

Anyway, here's a link to a couple of pics. My first attempt, so be kind.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/test/msgs/2784.phtml">Pics are here</a></li></ul>

Default Re: Irish Green/Platinum

Much appreciated. It was a little bit disconcerting not being able to see one in that color scheme when I placed the order.

Seeing the pictures though will suffice...and now I'm more confident that I'll be pleased when it comes in.

Thanks.
