WarrantyGold - How much did you pay?
Called up WG last week and try to get a quote for my 98 A6Q (C5) w/ 63.5K miles.
The 3 yrs/36K miles, plantium cover, is 3700+. The rep. mentioned that since I'm referred from AudiWorld.com, which bring them a lot of business BTW, and he quote me this rate, which is already lower than the original quote, which is close to 4K.
So, question here folks, how much did you paid for yours? Since I'm going to do the 60K serive (also the timing belt, water pump...etc) in the next 2 weeks, do you think I can have a chance to bargain for a better rate?

Hard to see why doing the service would help much (even though it includes renewing some things that are covered by the contract) since all policies require all maint. to be done as a condition of coverage... but let us know if that helps any to get a lower rate.

...not exactly an apples/apples comparison, but...
I recently bought an extended warranty for my '00 A6 2.7T for $1650. through Warrantech. I had to buy it from the dealership. The car had only has 26K miles on it, and I bought coverage for an additional 3 yrs/36K miles (beyond the factory warranty). $50 deductible. Part of the reason the premium was low is that my factory warranty still had about a month left on it. Once it expires, the premiums go up significantly.
I would recommend talking to your dealership about it before making a decision. My primary concern was to get a warranty that the dealer's service department was familiar with and recommended. I figured they would be the ones dealing with this directly, so their recommendation was very important in my decision.

I got the 60 months, 80K with $0 down. I already used twice with no problems. I got a new radio, a new sunroof motor and a new cam seal changed @ no cost. I just paid for diagnostics.

Thanks folks, I am going to give the rep a call tomorrow to see if they can do better!
Especially since I am goint to do a 60K + timing belt, water pump ..etc as preemtive maint. Otherwise, I will just do the 60K as contracted but I think it's a bad idea to both parties.!

Is it best to buy an extended warranty when your Factory Warranty is just about to run out??
I didn't purchase a warranty when I bought the car & planned on buying one by the end of this year. Is it best to wait til my Factory warranty is up???
