Speedometer Instrument Cluster

The light on my Instrument Cluster goes dim once the car is Warm. If the car is cold I see everything just fine and it's just the top portion that gets dim (The portion that displays the Radio Station, CD track,etc). The rest of the instrument cluster diplays fine all the time. Anyone know what I could do to fix and how much it would cost me? I just got the car last week.

Very common problem in all Audi's. If you have a warranty take it to the dealer

if not, about 700.00 for a new cluster. Mine is also faded. I'll buy a new one one day for now I just turn it off.

Alarm?

Does the 99 A6 come with an alarm? Mine has went off a couple time after I lock the doors but I thought that it was just an keyless entry system.

It should have just the factory alarm. Once the doors are locked,

it will go off when a door is opened without the key.

Common in the 98-99's that is. About the alarm.....
