Default 2000 A6 2.7t on ebay-price too low

There's a metallic silver/onyx interior 2K 2.7t quattro with 39700K miles, all the toys minus the navigation system. The buy it now price was set at 22500. The owner insists that there are NO scratches, dents, or any defects ANYWHERE in the car. The car looks, drives, and is new (again according to the dealer).

I priced this vehicle, as is, on edmunds, and the results were as follows:

private party-26K (roughly)
dealership-29K (roughtly).

Why would someone offer it so low? It seems too good to be true.

Default Ebay is the lowest of the lowest. If you want it, bring it to a mechanic

and have them check it out. Then I'd get a aftermarket warranty. Or you could always buy my car

Yeah, but looking at what your asking for a blue 2000 A4 on that website, that A6 2.7t seems like a STEAL.

How much are you asking for your 2.7t?

Default Sounds way low....suspicious. You should buy mine!...

I'm coming off lease on June 1. I'm in L.A., perfect Cashmere/melange 2000 2.7t, 24K miles. ALL options, inc. Nav.and Sport pkg., except phone. Asking $28,500 to sell instead of just turning it in. Ready to sell now!

That's more like it (the price that is)...more as expected for such a vehicle. I'm going to pass b/c you're even farther than fricken Kentucky. But thanks for the offer.

I did find mixed reviews on the earlier 2.7t models, such as failing turbos, transmission problems, resulting in Audi buybacks (ex:state of Minnesota lemon law). This could be one of those.

It's true, there were some problems. Mine, thankfully, had none of them and has been a great car. I'm getting a 4.2 to replace it, but I'll miss it. Think of the great cross country drive you'd have if you bought mine. Come to think of it, I'm jealous, maybe I'd drive it out to you! (where are you anyway?).

Pete K. (no kidding, same initials.)

Oh sh.. we do have same initials.

I'm in rochester, ny...It's a nice drive from LA, ok maybe not! Too bad I just bought an 2K A4, no sloucher by any means. I'll stick with it and avoid from looking on ebay too much. I should be happy with what I have (or can afford). I've got a hunch that 2.7t was too good to be true. Your quote seems what I would expect.

Also, I took a guess earlier that you were upgrading to a 4.2. Seems logical, you lucky dog!

Default Re: Used car market is very soft

I have a leased 2000 A6 2.7t, the lease is up next month. Wells Fargo has the lease, they are working very hard to sell me this car. Their last offer was $ 23,000 way below what KBB or Edmunds has it priced at, this price is also $4,000 below the residual contract price.

Default No kidding.....tell AFS!

Audi Financial Serv. has my lease and just made me a "one-time" offer of about $25,300 for my car. The rep claimed they were getting $25,000 at auction for 2000 2.7t's with avg. 39,000 miles. Sounds way high to me. He says I was "lucky" to get that deal as they "don't negotiate" the residuals with A4 or A8 owners. AFS also offered 3.49% 5 yr. financing if I wanted it. They need to get more realistic with prices if they want to reduce the number of cars that are returned.
