Heading to Milwaukee -- any "must-do's" while there?
We're staying at the fairground, and will be at the track Friday night/Saturday afternoon and night.
This leaves Friday and Sunday open for other things.
It is the 100th anniversary of the fairground and the track, so I expect there will be good things there. I'm just wondering what is within a 1/2 hour radius that I'd miss if I stayed on the grounds.
Suggestions?

2. Like pizza? The very best pizza I've ever had is at Ann's Italian Restaurant, Hwy. 100 and Forest Home Avenue in Hales Corners (only about 15 minutes from the Milwaukee Mile).
3. The lakefront is always nice...check out the art museum (or at least the huge "sculpture" on the outside grounds).
4. Like Chinese food? Go to Bamboo House on Hwy. 100 (South 108th Stteet) 1/2 block south of National Avenue. Try the Cantonese Chicken or Shrimp Chow Mein or Imperial Lo Mein for the very best pan-fried noodles you'll ever have. If you go, don't miss the chicken rice soup. Also if you go, note the McDonald's right around the corner on National Avenue; yours truly was the General Manager of that place in 1979.
5. Check out the one and only Audi dealership in the area, International Autos, also on Hwy. 100 just north of National Avenue (5 - 10 minutes from the track).
6. Check out one of the the truly beautiful county parks, such as Greenfield Park (Greenfield Avenue at about 124th Street) or Whitnall Park (Hales Corners).
I'm VERY jealous that you get to go...I'm a Milwaukee native who's lived in California since 1985. I go back every year but haven't gone back for the race since '97. Do you have pit/paddock passes for the weekend? How is it that you're going to this particular race? Ties in Milwaukee? Just curious.
Have a blast!
