Anyone experienced rust on rear doors black triangular trim piece?
I recently purchased a '99 A6 Avant that has what appears to be a very small amount of corrosion on both of the rear doors. The corrosion is only on the black triangular trim pieces that are situated at the rear of the door aft of where the window glass and door meet.
It appears to me that it is corroding from the inside out and there is no indication of exterior scratching to cause the rust. I also don't see any other rust on the car.
I contacted Audi Customer Service today and they said that my local dealership would have to make the warranty determination. I have an appointment to see them next week.
Has anyone experienced this and what was the warranty outcome?

very uncommon, was any bodywork done by chance? ...
i did see a 99 saloon with rust around the antenna base this week. did a double take as this has not been an issue since mid 80s when audi went to double sided zinc galvanized sheetmetal...
