Doh!!!!! Another shot transmission in my RS6! Well, after my first one went at 12,000
Drive it for literally one city block and put it in reverse again and all is good. The hard shift gets progressively worse with colder temps. Forward shifting gears are all fine.
Someone's testing my patience. It's a good thing it's otherwise such a damn awesome car or else I would have been taking the bus by now.
You know Audi, or specifically my advocate told me that they were not going to offer an extended warranty at no cost to me after the replacement of the last transmission because they don't know of any transmission problems in RS6's and figured this last one was good to go. I pleaded my case on deaf ears but they did mention that I needed to see how this one went and if sometime down the road I had problems with this transmission, then they would offer me either some form of compensation or total relief on the cost of an extended warranty, specifically to make certain I don't have to pay out of pocket for a trans once the car comes out of warranty.
I guess they never figured this one would only last 350 miles. Now it's time to see if they will stand behind their word or run and hide like I think they will.
(and Audi) will be kissing your keester for the inconvenience of having major problems in a new $85k car.
Good luck. Keep us posted.
