questions on PES supercharger on 99 2.8
from my previous post and responses , was able to read on the charger a little. can anyone comment on the charger. read it was like 3k now right.
also, most threads are in 2003, any recent responses.

3K sounds a bit low. Without knowing when and from whom, I'd toss that number out.
Shop around on the install, but don't skimp. Try to find somebody who has installed that specific kit and knows Audis reasonably well. Given the magnitude what things could cost if done incorrectly (rebuild engine), better to make sure it's done correctly.
Remember that if you ask more of any engine, you will wear it out faster. How much faster depends on your mods, how you drive it, and how you care for it.
You should also get the tranny chip from GIAC, to help shorten shift times and perhaps reduce the wear a tad. No matter what, it will be hard on the trans. You should also invest in brakes and a suspension that is capable of handling the extra power - especially brakes.
To top it off, a driving school or two when completed, will help you bond with your car, and exploit the newfound potential.

Aprils right....also remember that when I looked intot his otion they also ...
suggested getting an upgraded exhaust, the GIAC Tip chip, a custom intake, and a few other goodies that make the full potential of the upgrade come out.
I am not sure what kind of gains you would see with out Vs. with other mods.
I do know that cost goes up pretty quick. Call PES, they are very easy to talk to and nice guys.

hi, i did the pes II to my 99 a6 2.8 about 5 months ago, in the portland maine area, new exhaust, chip and tip chip, ron from pes says it is a must, after few bugs took it to franz at ktr? in mass and he dialed it in,... once dialed in it is awesome, more than you need for everyday, but who said we have to be rational about our audis and the plain 2.8 is kind of weak... now it rocks, any questions, i'd be happy to help if i can, but talk to ron, very helpful, should be, it is his baby, and mine was 4500 plus install... i'd say, worth it all, good luck...
