i got confused.... s4 rims fit on a6 2.8Q without spacer?

Default 2.8, yes
The only concern is with the 2.7T and 4.2L folks using the HP2 caliper.

Default The S4 (B5 platform) fit just fine over the HP2 calipers...
many of us have those. Mine are for my winter setup. If you do a search for "brenner" he has 18" S4 (B6 platform) wheels on his Avant, I think it is a 2.8.

Default Yes, both B5 and B6 S4 wheels will fit no issues.
