Default New leather for my sport seats recoving project.

Allright folks, seats will be enroute after the holidays so I have some time to look for leather.

First question: Is the factory OEM leather avaiable from Audi? Can one actually order the covers?

Is there a better source? I'm open to options, as long as I can match the color. By the way, what the heck color do I have anyway? Is kinda like a bannana/yellow. Not tan, not beige. I just can't remember what Audi calls it.

Default Sounds like you have vanilla/onyx interior. Have you talked to interior finishing pro

about re-dying your seats?

I've never seen the covers available on their own - they usually come attached to a portion of the seat frame (back or bottom). Make sure that whatever and whomever you use, takes into account the side airbags in the seats (tear away stitching).

Hmmm....Vanilla, OK I'll buy that. Not sure about Onyx. Is that what you're calling Blue? Mine is Blue.

I have talked to one shop locally that does aircraft and boat interiors. I had them do some carpet work for one our our aircaft. They are up for the seat project, and I have seen their work. However, I will try to sniff out some other local shops and get additional opinions.

My standards are that I need it to last and also look as it did from the factory. If not better.

Default And yes they are available from Audi at a staggering price tag. The cover

for the front seat bottom with heating element in Vanilla has a list price of $585.65. Why they felt they needed to have the 65 cents I'll never know. These kind of parts are always insane from the manufacturer.

It's vanilla. Audi code JM. I recently received a quote from an auto upholstery shop - $900 each seat and just the surface.

Ah, that was also an option - vanilla/royal blue. Extremely rare. Almost as rare as all blue.

Yup. A few people had warranty replacements of cover only. Too much $$$ - find an independent.
