At what speed do people "freak out"?
I normally drive no more than 5 mph over speed limit, and maybe stretch that a bit when overtaking. On a few ocasions when I found an open strech of highway and nobody on sight I floored the V8 to get it to over 100 for a few secs.
Today I was driving with my boss in his M3 and I kind of steped on it a little bit to see what it would do. When we hit 110, he completely freaked out (totally empty freeway) and started begging for me to slow down. Is this normal for you guys? Is it common that people feel afraid of speeds like this? Maybe he's just too much arkansish...

I freak out 5 mph over the speed limit...
because I just know that there's some cop nearby who's ready to bust me and cause me to pay higher ins. premiums.
I believe the speed limiter is set between 130-140 mph.

It depends...
on the physical condition of the road, traffic, my passengers. I drive at 90mph without any problem, above that it is fear of the troopers (even if you slow down you cannot slow down fast enough not to get a ticket).
Talking about roads, I founds roadways very nice in PA for high speed. NJ has bad roads and one new segment of road on I80 in NJ was really made cheap....roadway has ondulation to it....My favorite are the concrete roadways., they tend to be noisy but you can push on them.

Last time at the track, I was topping 115 on the straight, and chose to let up....
... because I didn't have complete confidence in the brakes, and it's not like I was being timed or was racing anyone. The car was rock steady though (felt like 75).
Turn one after the longest straight (Summit Point) was a very slow right hander, and I figured that if the car would fail me anywhere, it would be there. Why tempt fate?
All the fun is in the turns anyway!
I never make high speed runs on public roads. First, it's a great way to get a reckless driving citation. Second, it ain't all that fun.

I freaked out when I crested a hill at 95mph in my old Escort GT and saw a trooper at the bottom.
Ticket for 40mph over. Paid a $137 fine and never a problem with insurance or anything else. Back in 1988 on the way to Albany from Rock City Falls.
Copper told me "You know what's sad? You didn't even get the high for the day."
