Now you need to thank me because instead of flaming you for street racing, people will flame me for busting the myth that quattro creates a physics-defying suction that holds cars onto the road.
Now back to quattro. Contrary to what most people on this forum probably think, quattro offers little to no performance or safety advantage in 95% of the driving most owners do. A few years back, one of the major car magazines did a test where they compared an A4 with quattro to both a FWD A4 and two rear wheel drive cars. The ran them through a battery of standard tests; acceleration, braking, lateral acceleration and grip, etc., in a variety of conditions including dry pavement, wet pavement and snow. The only conditions where there was any measureable advantage to quattro was in the snow. In dry and wet road conditions there was no advantage. In fact, acceleration and braking was slightly worse due to the additional weight.
Now my guess is that in a performance built race car, you may be able to get some additional performance out of an AWD system, but on the street it's more marketing than reality. It feels good to drive an AWD car, but it's a mistake to think it's really any better than a competent 2wd car. Especially at 100+ on a dry road, like this homer was commenting on.
